365 Project: Day 54-Basketball

Jason got the basketball goal up tonight and Tate is in love! The neighbor kids and Jason played well into the dark. I see long evenings playing basketball in our future.

365 Project: Day 53-Haircuts

Both kid's were due for haircuts. We normally go to a kiddy salon but we haven't found one yet in Wichita. So I took them both to a "cosmetic cafe" to get a good haircut. They weren't used to not watching movies and sitting in firetrucks but both were complimented on how still they sat. Tate looks little in such a big cape!

365 Project: Day 52-Tornado

Preparing for the Kansas tornados....Since Tate had the day off for President's Day, we went to the Exploration Place, a kid museum, downtown. They loved checking out the shark exhibit and learn about Kansas, especially the tornado simulator!

365 Project: Day 51-Princesses

Maren wanted to have a princess party for lunch so she set 4 place settings complete with cheese and water and informed everyone that they needed to be in their proper attire. I was the only one that was compliant.

365 Project: Day 50-Sabor

We went out for dinner with some friends at a popular restaurant in town, Sabor, which is a Latin Bar and Grill. It was fabulous! We had yet to find a great dinner in Wichita but we will definitely be going back here! Yummm...

365 Project: Day 49-One Friday afternoon...

On a beautiful Friday afternoon, this is what you can find us doing...Jason came home early, which is unheard of, Tate was playing hard with the neighbor kids, Maren, who had been to a mommy's day out at a gymnastics studio all afternoon, was exhausted and watching TV on our bed and I was overseeing the basketball goal production in the garage before getting ready for our neighbors to come over for dinner. It's a good day!

365 Project: Day 48-Help

With Jason out of town for the night and kiddos in bed, this was some nice Help.

365 Project: Day 47-Fog

This morning was foggy! Tate came in to our room early to inform me there was alot of fog and wondered if he still had to go to school. The snow days have spoiled him. I could hardly see him getting on the bus at the bus stop which made for a pretty cool picture. I see the outline of kid's so I assume he got on OK:)

365 Project: Day 46-Sam's and Laundry

It's Tate's turn to bring snacks at school and at his basketball game this week so headed to Sam's and did laundry....that was as eventful as this day got!

365 Project: Day 45-Love

Valentine's Day is filled with love at our house! Tate played cupid sometime in the middle of the night and left our Valentine's at our door (too cute)! We all made or gave each other cards, kids got balloons, heart shaped waffles, PB &J's and pizzas and lots of candy and presents! Kid's had their annual scavenger hunt which they love and everyone had a great day!

365 Project: Day 44-Love our sunsets!

These sunsets never get old! We actually sat on our porch to watch this one tonight. Yep, we went from negative numbers to 61 degrees all in a week. It was a beautiful day! The kids played outside all afternoon, in a slightly soggy yard due to the snow melting so fast but what a nice change!

365 Project: Day 43-Date night!

Once a month, the YMCA has a parent's night out, which was on Saturday, just in time for Valentine's day! We took the kids over there and went to dinner at Bonefish Grill which was excellent! They have an ever popular appetizer called Bang Bang Shrimp that we were told we had to get. I think the whole restaurant got it also and I have to say, I would go back just for it. The kids had a wonderful time playing basketball, some rock climbing, gymnastics and pizza and can't wait to go back. I think we can make that happen!

365 Project: Day 42-Valentine's Party

Tate had his Valentine's party at school on Friday, not quite sure why it was on Friday since Valentine's Day is on Monday but, anyway, Maren and I went over and helped out in his class. She sat on the floor and ate candy the whole time while I helped the kids play Valentine twister complete with a " Text me" square. Times have changed:) This is the cutest Valentine ever and Mrs. Beliera, Tate's teacher!

365 Project: Day 41-Brrrrrr!

Brrrrr......that's about all I have to say about that! It did get down to -17 at 6:30am breaking the record for the day by about 12 degrees and is the 4th coldest day ever recorded in Wichita history with 2 of the previous lowest temps recorded 1899. What a winter!

365 Project: Day 40-My Little Snowman

It sounds like a broken record, but guess what, we got snow! Alot of snow. Weather.com claims 15.1 inches from the arctic blast that hit Kansas yesterday, we don't have that much, maybe 6 inches. So, I'm out shoveling the sidewalk and driveway for the umteenth time this season and felt we couldn't have all this snow with no snowman. The snow was not snowman material but with finding some big chunks and gently putting on the accessories, a little snowman came to be. Although, there were no kids around....Maren was too cold and went inside and Tate (who is now on snow day #5 for the year) was too cold and went to the neighbors house, I thought it was pretty cute:)

365 Project: Day 39-Super B

Really? Do I have to be a Super Dog? The kids decided since they were Super Heroes, Bella needed to be one too. What dogs have to put up with living with kids:)

365 Project: Day 38-Bubbles

The kids rarely get to use our bathtub due to previous flooding experiences. It seems when the 2 of them get in at the same time, they turn into wild animals. So, tonight, Maren was the lucky one, got to take an extra bubbly bath our room and swim around like a mermaid.

365 Project: Day 37-Super Bowl

Can't have a Super Bowl party without yummy appetizers, wings, Doritos and wine! Way to go, Packers!!

365 Project: Day 36-Much needed

]
After this week, this was much needed!

365 Project: Day 35-Aftermath

And this would be the aftermath of those clouds which made us turn around at the Texas border and head back to Wichita. Who would have thought?

365 Project: Day 34-Nasty Clouds

On our drive to San Antonio, in between Wichita and Oklahoma City, these clouds were beautiful. I believe I mentioned those are clouds that are going to bring snow to San Antonio and Jason laughed saying we were too far north. Well.....they weren't very pretty clouds after all.

365 Project: Day 33-Snowday Special

Being that today is our 2nd snow day in a row, we needed something different so we brought out the marshmallow fluff and made Snowday Special sandwiches...1. Fluff looks like snow 2. Kids loved it 3. Snowday Surprises only can be eaten on snowdays (which prevents whining about not being able to have them everyday!)

365 Project: Day 32-Snowstorm

This morning it was 3 degrees (-20 wind chill), winds at 27mph and snow coming down sideways. Good day to stay at home, unless you have a law test to take across town. Luckily, I left early in case there was traffic problems, got there an hour early with no problems, got to start the test an hour early and was home an hour earlier than expected. That would not have happen if it was 62 out. Let the snow day begin!

365 Project: Day 31-Studying

Where was this the last time I was studying for an exam? Well, I didn't have a cool fireplace or drink coffee, kids that needed orange juice or constant attention, a dog that needed to go outside every 5 minutes or a distracting iPhone. I was probably in a cold, college apartment eating crackers and Campbell's chicken and noodles, all by myself ,with no internet, email, facebook, laundry, or house to keep clean. You would have thought I'd have gotten straight A's. In the same amount of time it would take for Tate to be a sophomore in college is the amount of time it has been since I last took a big exam. That is a long time and I am totally out of practice. I have to take my KS pharmacy law test so this has been a common spot for me to study the last few mornings. And I don't have any urge to want to go back to school! Let's hope I pass so I don't have to study again...until the next time Jason gets a new position in a different state and, at that, let's hope it's in IN or TX where I'm already licensed:)
