Some of my favorite things all in one day:)

While Jason heads to Virginia Beach to run a half marathon on Sunday, the kids and I are driving to Port Aransas to spend the weekend on the beach with some friends! Hopefully, Gustav won't join us! Have a fun and safe holiday weekend!

Hi Paci

Maren has become quite the paci addict. She throws a fit when I take it from her and she loves doing things by herself so I've been telling her in the morning to go put it in her bed so she can have it at nap time. She loves to run in her room, throw her paci in her crib and then hang on the side of the crib saying "Hi paci". She thinks it's quite funny and then off she goes. This has works wonderfully for a whole week. The other day, she didn't want lunch, she just wanted to nap. OK. I put her in her bed and she was all smiles when she got her paci. Then she wanted lunch...She's starting to figure it out.

This morning she was very quiet which usually means she's doing something she shouldn't be like coloring on something she shouldn't be. I found her in her crib with....her paci in her mouth. She figured out how to pull herself over the crib rail, land on her head and get into her crib. She was so thrilled with herself. Mom is going to need to be more creative. By the way, getting dinner ready was so easy because she, again, got into her crib and stayed there for most of the time I was fixing dinner. She hasn't figured out how to get out yet:)

First Day of School..Sort Of

Today was the start to the new school year at the kids school. They, obviously, have been going throughout the summer but today they both were in new classrooms. Tate moved from the 3 year old room to the Kinder-Ready class. He switched building and is now at "The Treehouse". He was a little hesitant but once he got in there and saw some friends he knew, I walked out of there without a tear shed. Yeah! He has lots of boys in his new class!! Last year, he was outnumbered 13:3 girls:boys. I think this made it easier because he loves to play with the boys.

Maren just changed rooms with a new teacher. She, on the other hand, shed a few tears. In fact, most of the kids in the class were. Poor teacher. She even made the comment that "it wasn't a smooth morning". Hopefully things got better.

I'm finally a blogger!

I have to admit, I'm totally addicted to reading blogs. I'm not sure what it is but everyone's lives seem so interesting. I also realized that I feel like I've stayed in contact with people that I don't have a chance to call or keep in touch, hence, if I only had time..... So I decided to join the club and make a blog. Not only for our out-of-town friends and family to see how big our kiddos are getting but more for me to pay attention to the small details of each day--the funny things that are said, the games we play, the craziness our lives are each day. With a now 4 year old, I wonder where the time has gone and hope I wouldn't forget the small details. I may not blog everyday:) but will try and share our funny quotes and pictures of the day!
