Last Game

Tate had his last teeball game on Saturday. We were sad to see the season end. He had a great time and is already talking about soccer!

*****
Jason and I had a wonderful Saturday night. We spent the evening with some of our good friends. We ate dinner at Paesanos on the RiverWalk which is one of my favorite restaurants. You can't beat the Shrimp Paesano and a pomegranate martini:) Then, we went to see Wicked. I had seen it last year in NYC on our girls' weekend but I wanted to Jason to see it. He saw more of the back of his eyelids but I thought it was fabulous. I had forgotten a lot of the story and, thoroughly, enjoyed it the second time around. I have had "Defying Gravity" stuck in my head since then! What an enjoyable evening!

Tate's Preschool Graduation

Tate had his preschool Graduation this past week. The kids were so cute in their cap and gowns. They put on a program with songs and facts of their knowledge. They had "What I want to be when I grow up...". Tate wants to be a cowboy:) Since his class is mostly boys, there were alot of monster truck drivers-watch out world! Even though school resumed as normal the next day, this was such a fun milestone. Off to Kindergarten they go!!

San Antonio in the Spring

There are lots of things to do in San Antonio in the spring and we have been busy trying to get it all done.

*Strawberry picking

*Texas bluebonnets

*Fiesta

*Spurs in action

The kids and I headed to the hill country to pick some strawberries. They were pretty small but they had fun. Maren loved the white ones :) While we were there, we tracked down some bluebonnets on the side of the road. Since the weather has been so dry, they have been pretty scarce this year but we found some. They, truly, are the start of spring.

Fiesta comes once a year and is a 2 week celebration filled with festivals, parades and partying. It celebrates the heros of the Texas revolution and has been around since the 1800's, of course, getting bigger and bigger as the years pass. We took the kids to the Fiesta Art Fair, where they love to get their face painted and do different art projects. This year we came home with some mosiac sun catchers, a superman medal, and a painted pictures by Maren. Jason and I enjoyed a night out at NIOSA (Night in old San Antonio) along with about a million other people. Besides the crowd, the food was wonderful and the atmosphere was fun to take in.

We love our Spurs! Unfortunately, we have to wait until next year to see them play again but we had fun going to a playoff game with our friends, Julie and Colby!

We love living in San Antonio and enjoying what this town holds, especially in the spring!

It's Offical...

..Tate is signed up for kindergarten. They have Kinder Roundup in the spring to sign up all the incoming kindergarteners for the fall. We headed to the elementary school with our paperwork in hand. He was so excited to see his new school. We got to go on a tour and his favorite classroom was the music room. He thought school started the next day. You got to wait a little bit, buddy! I can't believe my little guy is old enough to start school!

Easter Festivities

We started our Easter festivities with our annual Easter egg hunt at our friends, Jill and Nathan's. The kids had a wonderful time looking for eggs in their great, big backyard. It acted like it was going to rain all day but turned out to be a beautiful evening.
The Easter bunny hopped by to deliver Easter baskets and we enjoyed the day at home! Easter is one of my favorite holidays!

Surprise!

Dad turned 60 on March 20 and, for all he knew, dinner out was the most celebration the big birthday was going to get. Little did he know, a week later big party plans had been made. One of his good friends, Kirk, who also turned 60, his wife, Bridget and mom had been planning a surprise party for the both of them. Another surprise was that we were flying in town to participate in the festivities. So thinking they were stopping by the Other Pub, on their way to Indy for dinner, to visit a client of Bridgets', they were, in fact, walking in on their own surprise party! Surprise! Dad had to do a double take when Tate ran up to him. It was priceless. What a fun night! Spending time with friends and family and dancing the night away was a wonderful way to celebrate 60 years! We are so glad to have been a part of it! Happy Birthday, Dad!! We love you!

Let the Teeball Season Begin

Tate had his very first teeball game this morning. He was so excited! He did such a good job! He hit the ball and ran the bases and went for the ball whenever it was hit. He even got grass stains all over his pants. He loved it and had to tell me he got the ball 11 times. They were so cute out on the field. 4 yr old teeball is much different then your typical baseball game but, at least, they are learning the basics. The play for 1 hour. They bat the whole line-up. No strikes, balls, outs. They just swing until they hit it and then run to first. All I can say is that it is too cute!! I can't wait for tomorrows game.

Made it home:)
