Few inches taller, few less teeth, where did my little boy go??
365 Project: Day 144-Farewell to 1st grade picnic
Tate had a Farewell to 1st grade picnic. We all joined him for hot dogs, chips, drink and a cookie. Unfortunately, it was raining outside so what was supposed to be an outside picnic turned into eating in his classroom. It was nice to see his room, teacher, friends and parents for the last time before school was out. Here comes 2nd grade!
365 Project: Day 143-Whew!
After watching the Weather Channel all morning and was sure a tornado was going to come through Wichita, we, luckily, missed alot of the severe weather. We got a few rounds of storms with lightening, thunder, hail and hard rain but, for the most part, missed alot of it. Whew! I had to work in the evening and Jason had been out of town. I had gotten some water, snacks, shoes, blankets, pillows, flashlights, and new batteries for the weather radio and put them in the craft room downstairs that has a cement wall from the garage. He, finally, arrived in town, got the kiddos, pizza and a movie and camped out for the night and luckily, it passed without them even needing to go downstairs! I know alot of the US got hit alot harder from those storms than we did and, hopefully, they didn't cause too much damage!

365 Project: Day 142-First Grade Rocks
Tate had Author Night at his school for his class. Each child wrote a paragraph and made a picture about the question "What are your 2 favorite things about 1st grade?". Most answers were about PE and Computers. They published them all in a hard back book titled "First Grade Rocks". At Author Night, they each got up and read their story to the class and their families. Too cute!
365 Project: Day 141-Nice to Meet You
Maren and the giraffe at Tanganyika wildlife park! This was a very cool park! You can feed the giraffes and the lemurs, pet kangaroos and ride camels. We can't wait to go back!
365 Project: Day 140-Lightening
Jason and Tate set out to buy a gecko and, with a little more research, ended up coming home with a, lower maintanence, beta fish. Meet our new pet, Lightening! They love him and he is quite pretty! Maren was just upset it wasn't a girl:)

365 Project: Day 139-Cascarones
Keeping up with the San Antonio tradition, we taught our neighbors about cascarones. Click here to read about them! I, surprisingly, came across them at WalMart and they were made in San Antonio. Kinda funny. Anyway, we sent the kids over to the empty lot across the street because these eggs filled with confetti make a mess and they proceeded to crack eachother over the head with all 12 of them. Quite the excitement for about 5 minutes then they were off doing bigger and better things!

365 Project: Day 137-Big Trouble
Maren thought a new shirt she got was a dress then came up with it pulled down over her bum and put heels with it. Nice. And then argued with me when I told her to put some pants on. We're in for some big trouble!

365 Project: Day 133-Last Soccer Game
Tate had his last soccer game. He made great improvements this season! His coach, Meurig, is an amazing coach. He is/was a professional soccer player. He has some serious soccer skills, amazing to watch with a soccer ball and has not an ounce of fat on him. We are very forturnate to have him teaching Tate and are looking forward to the fall season!
365 Project: Day 132-From the White House
Tate's class wrote letters to President Obama it hopes of receiving a letter back. Within a month, we got our letter from the White House. Pretty exciting to get important mail!
Here is a copy of the letter Tate sent:

365 Project: Day 130-The Neighbors
These are are neighbors! It was quite a surprise to open the paper and see their picture. The mom, Amy, is an OB in town and her husband, Jeff, stays home with their 5 kids. They have 3 biological boys and have adopted twin girls from China. They have become quite a staple at our house. The kids play together nearly everyday. They are an amazing family and are now over in China adopting #6, a 3yr named Charlie. They took the whole clan over there and are going to be gone for 2 1/2 wks. They have sent us a link to their pictures they have been posting so it's been fun to follow their adventure and see little Charlie. Our kids are missing their friends and will be ready for them to come home!
365 Project: Day 129-Best Mother's Day Card
Since we had been gone all weekend, Jason had the kids make Mother's Day cards for me while I was at work and had them on the counter when I got home. They were the best cards ever!
365 Project: Day 128-Hottest Day Yet
Monday hit a record 100 degrees in Wichita! It broke the record that day from back in the late 1800's. Crazy weather! Although, the wind was blowing so hard it didn't really feel that hot, since we have San Antonio's 100 degrees to compare to...now that is hot!

365 Project: Day 126-Kansas City Royals
We went to Kansas City and met up with our old friends, Frank, Shannon, Carter and Madison, from Houston. They now live in Dallas and drove to Kansas City to meet us for a Royals game. It was a beautiful evening and a fabulous ball field. It was great to see our friends again and it was amazing with the difference in ages of the kids, how much fun they had together. By the way, I have a picture of Carter holding Tate in the hospital when he was born. Too cute!!
365 Project: Day 125-Mom's Picnic
Maren's school had a Mom's Picnic for Mother's Day. She made a picture and a letter about mom, we brought a picnic lunch and ate outside in the courtyard, played lots of carnival games and got her face painted. What special day they planned for all the moms!
365 Project: Day 123-Swimming Lessons
Both kids started swimming lessons at the Y to refresh for the summer. They take them at the same time but in different groups. Makes it nice to only have to make one trip a week!

365 Project: Day 119-Smores
It was a beautiful Saturday night and our neighbors got a new fire pit. They put it together while we sat and drank some wine. The kids then roasted smores! They had a great time!
365 Project: Day 118-The Royal Wedding
I woke up just in time to watch the Royal Wedding! I was just going to record it but Jason got up around 5 and asked if I wanted to turn it on. I'm so glad I did! Maren came into our room soon after and watched it with me in bed. We loved it!! What a beautiful wedding! She now loves Princess Kate!

365 Project: Day 116-Rio
Tate had gone with a friend to see Rio a few weeks ago so on this rainy cold day, I took Maren to see it. She loved her special afternoon and the movie was adorable!
365 Project: Day 115-The Boss and his Office
I had to go to Walgreen's District Office, which is where Jason's office is, for a customer service meeting before I went to work at the store. I took him lunch beforehand and even got a rare picture of him in his office while I was at it.
365 Project: Day 114-Clothes
Day of cleaning out closets, sorting clothes into give away piles, garage sale piles and Kid to Kid piles and reorganizing totes to according to age. Yay! I love spring cleaning! I still don't feel like I get rid of enough but some of the cutest outfits I just can't part with!
